Our Statement:
The following information is what we have found works well with our chinchillas. We have gotten most our information from breeders/owners who are more experienced with chins than we are.

Pumice Stones:
Chins are avid chewers and need things to chew on to help keep their teeth from becoming overgrown. They will chew on anything given the opportunity. We provide pumice stones and chew blocks. We also give ours cholla chews which they really enjoy.

Diarrhea:
This is common in chinchillas. It can be caused by too many treats, stress, moldy hay, bad food/water. Droppings are soft and sticky. They will stick to anything they land on. To treat diarrhea you can give a wheat thin or 1cc of Children's Kaopectate(cherry flavor). We haven't had to deal with this problem so these are some suggestions from chin breeders who have dealt with the problem before.
